Autor: Theodor Fontane

Heinrich Theodor Fontane (* 30. Dezember 1819 in Neuruppin; † 20. September 1898 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller, Journalist und Theaterkritiker. Sein im fortgeschrittenen Lebensalter einsetzendes umfangreiches Romanschaffen (darunter Frau Jenny Treibel, Effi Briest und Der Stechlin) begründete Fontanes epochale Bedeutung als Vertreter des zeitgenössischen Realismus. Mitgeprägt durch die familiären Wurzeln bei den Hugenotten in Berlin, nahm Fontane nach einer Kindheit in Neuruppin und Swinemünde zunächst Kurs auf den Beruf seines Vaters und durchlief eine vollständige Ausbildung zum Apotheker.
